چکیده
There has been a decline in the number of public schools South Africa offering information technology as subject, yet it holds special significance higher level computational courses especially at tertiary level. Learners doing programming (IT) have difficulties during initial stages learning how to design and develop programs due abstract nature subject demands on use data structures establish needed heuristics solve problems or solutions. Through Semantic wave code Legitimation Code Theory lens, this research aims address cognitive aspects deeper acquiring appropriate knowledge for program problem-solving. The semantics are cornerstone school their difficulty may cause memory overload, hence importance mental computers work. semantic construct Theory, we unpacked unfamiliar settings repacked different by moving from simpler meanings [concrete] complex [abstract]. In work, discuss issues that make more accessible navigating using contextualised exploration giving learners’ concretized understanding while placing them requiring creativity. Importantly, work builds researched literature experience specialists explaining learners through various context profiles multi-level abstraction programming.

Access to the published version may require subscription. It has been shown that deep approaches to learning, intrinsic motivation, and self-regulated learning have strong positive effects on learning. How those pedagogical theories can be integrated in computing curricula is, however, still lacking empirically grounded analyses. In a more general level, it has been widely acknowledged that in ...

The purpose of this paper is an analysis of a collaborative, information technology-mediated teaching endeavour in marketing education. The analysis goes beyond a comparison of traditional and technology-based teaching on a learning-effectiveness level by covering the different perceptions of instructors, learners, teaching assistants and IT personnel of the cost and benefits of such settings f...
متن کاملTeaching and Learning Mathematical Modelling with Technology
In the last few decades, there have been abundant discussions among mathematicians and mathematics educators on promoting mathematical modelling (a process of using mathematics to tackle real world problems) as a classroom practice. Mathematics educators and curriculum planners have been advocating the teaching of mathematical modelling in schools for some time now. Despite the consensus on its...
